Use Limitations of Structural Silicone Sealant Exterior Use Silicone Adhesive
Structural Silicone Sealant Exterior Use Silicone Adhesive should not be applied in the following conditions:
- To all surfaces that bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents, and some uncured or sulfurized rubber.
- To the unventilated space or the surface which can touch the food or water directly.
- When the surface’s temperature is below 4℃ or above 40℃.
- To materials contained copper or copper alloy, painted surface, which may cause paint cracking or paint stripping.
- To the surfaces with lime power, concrete or sand again.
Please read company’s technical files before application. Compatibleness test and bonding test must be done for construction materials before application.
The substrate to be in contact with the sealant must be clean, dry and free of all loose materials, dust, dirt, rust, oil, and other contaminants. Extrude the sealant with caulking gun to the working area and trim it before sealant cured. Do not touch the trimmed area again o avoid damage or aesthetic appearance.
Storage period is 12 month from the date of manufacture when stored at dry and airy, below 27℃ conditions.
Safety notes of Structural Silicone Sealant Exterior Use Silicone Adhesive
During curing VOC is released. These vapors should not be inhaled for long periods or in high concentration. Hence, good ventilation of the work place is necessary. Should uncured silicone rubber come into contact with eyes or mucous membranes, the affected area must be rinsed thoroughly with water as irritation will otherwise be caused. Cured silicone rubber, however, can be handled without any risk to health.
