Although the container shipping industry is entering the traditional peak season, the container price and spot freight rate are still dropping significantly year-on-year.
At the same time, Alan Murphy, CEO of sea intelligence, a maritime data analysis company, pointed out through analysis that the utilization rate of ships will continue to be low and the freight rate will continue to decline.
Container freight rates continue to fall
According to the latest data of Shanghai Air Transport Exchange, the Shanghai export container freight index (SCFI) fell 132.84 points to 3429.83 points, a decrease of 3.73%, falling for ten weeks and falling back to the lowest point since the middle of May last year.
All four major routes fell, of which the US western route plummeted for two consecutive weeks and the decline continued to expand.
